Dr. David Campillo Recio is a medical doctor and surgeon specialized in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology, with an outstanding career focused on the comprehensive treatment of foot and ankle conditions, particularly in the fields of sports medicine, arthroscopy, and minimally invasive surgery.
He earned his degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Complutense University of Madrid in 2008 and obtained his PhD in Medicine from the same university in 2016, graduating with the distinction of Summa Cum Laude. After completing his training in Internal Medicine at Severo Ochoa University Hospital in Madrid (2009–2014), he specialized in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology at the prestigious Institut Català de Traumatologia i Medicina de l’Esport (ICATME), located at the Quirón Dexeus University Hospital in Barcelona (2015–2020).
Dr. Campillo is currently the Director of the Foot and Ankle Unit (ICATPIE) at ICATME.
Throughout his career, he has combined his clinical practice with research, continuous education, and teaching. He has been a speaker at national and international conferences, published numerous scientific articles in indexed journals, and coauthored chapters in specialized books. Additionally, he has completed training stays at internationally renowned centers.
His commitment to innovation and continuous improvement is reflected in his active participation in various specialized courses on foot and ankle surgery, arthroscopy, and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Dr. Campillo is a member of the leading scientific societies in the field of traumatology and orthopedic surgery. He serves on the Leg, Ankle & Foot Committee of ISAKOS (2025–2027) and has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Society of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology (SECOT). He is also a member of the Spanish Society of Foot and Ankle Medicine and Surgery (SEMCPT), the European Foot and Ankle Society (EFAS), the Catalan Society of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology (SCCOT), and the Spanish Society of Arthroscopy (AEA-SEROD).
